Now that summer is upon us, it’s time to start thinking seriously about how you will create that tropical oasis feeling in your own home. The place where you spend your summer days should be cheerful and sunny with ample places to find refuge from the heat. Some people might opt for a romantic getaway with that special someone, while others hope to create a place that will please the whole family.

Whatever your summer plans, it’s always good to seek a bit of inspiration. That’s why today on homify360 we are headed to Caracas where we will be exploring a 440 square meter brick home by renowned architect Renny Molina. It's cool and cosy with a few special features to boot. We hope you’ll join us for a closer look!

Red brick paradise

From a distance, the rectangular red brick abode might not seem like a summer haven. Upon closer inspection, however, the exterior is perfectly equipped for summer socialising.

There is a large grill for cooking meals and enough space for outdoor entertaining. We love the use of white stone to designate the sunbathing space, and we can’t wait to get a closer look at that jacuzzi!

Taking a soak in style

The custom jacuzzi is remarkably large and unique in shape, allowing for several people to enjoy it simultaneously whilst still being small enough for more intimate gatherings.

Stone and wood are used in the patio to create a natural feel. Meanwhile, the jacuzzi is strategically placed to offer a stunning view of the surrounding tropical mountains.

Cooling off

While there is plenty to enjoy outside, there’s no doubting the intensity of the heat in this part of the world. Therefore, a cool indoor space to accompany the marvellous patio is a must.

This airy interior is clad in shining slabs of stone, which will help keep things feeling cooler than an abundance of textiles or warm wooden tones would. When the owners of this home decide to entertain during the warmer hours of the day, this large corner sofa in this living room provides plenty of space for doing so.

Indoor entertainment

As we shift our orientation to the other side of the room, we can see that the opposite wall is painted a muted violet tone, a cool colour that adds an air of tranquility.

There is a large television for enjoying a movie or favourite TV series, but otherwise the space is kept quite minimal. This is a wise move for anyone looking to decorate a house in a hot climate.

Cosy outdoor dining setup

No well-appointed patio that is noted for its entertainment value could be complete without a proper dining setup. Here, the dining table and six chairs fits perfectly in this little nook separated from the home’s interior by sliding glass doors.

Still, as it is enclosed on three sides, this spot offers plenty of privacy. We can imagine that the family and their guests enjoy time together out here well into the night.

A place to unwind

Still, when dinner is through, it’s nice to be able to move to a cosier place to enjoy an after dinner coffee or cocktail. This more casual spot offers the ideal spot to do just that, all under the shade of a palm tree. What is more summery than spending a night outdoors in the balmy weather, having a carefree time with family and friends?

We hope you're feeling just a bit more inspired to make the most out of your summer after reading this guide. For more tips on getting your home summer ready, check out this guide to creating a summer oasis in even the tiniest of homes.
