Are you tired of spending your weekends cocooned inside your house in the city? Then this picturesque weekend house will inspire you to make a much-needed escape. Nestled amid lush greenery and located on a hilltop in Lonavala, the stunning house has been designed by the architects from Ashleys, based in Mumbai. Every element of the house contributes to creating a Mediterranean landscape and brings the residents a step closer to nature. Also, it combines rustic exteriors with contemporary furnishings to create the ideal balance between the classic and the modern.

An inviting living room

Painted dominantly in white, the décor of the living room has been kept simple and minimal to generate a relaxing environment. An element that completely stands out here is the built-in furniture, which not only saves floor space but also lends a unique element to the design. Also, the potted greens infuse freshness and complement the monochromatic walls

Suite-style bedroom on the upper level

The bedroom on the upper floor provides a breathtaking view of the hills. The enormous space has been used in the best way possible, as the bedroom is connected with the lounge area through an archway. The feature elevates the ordinary bedroom to a master suite that provides comfort and a bit of luxury.

Serene lower-level Bedroom

The moment you enter this room, the white stone walls instantly draw attention towards the rustic exposed stone architectural detail on it. Alongside the large-sized bed, a cushioned chair has been incorporated to provide additional seating space.

Cosy lounge

The lounge area is perfect for times when you wish to enjoy your morning cup of tea and take in the splendid view that the location has to offer. The huge sliding windows in the room invite ample natural light and provide ventilation. Moreover, this is the spot in the house which has the most comfortable setting with a view, which is sure to make it everyone’s favourite.

Simple entrance foyer

The eclectic and elegant entrance foyer welcomes guests and sets the right tone for the style that can be expected from the rest of the house. Also, it acts as a passage that separates the living room from the main entry. The walls, adorned with brass sculptures, effortlessly align with the red-brown floor tiles.

Airy terrace

The terrace on the upper level uses oiled timber for the roof frame as well as the posts that support its structure. In addition, the built-in seating offers a panoramic view of the trees and the hills that surround the lovely weekend house. To create uniformity in the design, the flooring reflects the neutral tones of raw concrete.

Classic and traditional exterior

The exterior of the weekend house features sloping roofs and solid walls that help to strengthen the overall structure. The design of the house has taken into consideration the heavy rainfall and general weather conditions in the region. Shrubs and trees encircle the walls, with their refreshing colours, adding a beautiful contrast to the walls and maintaining the rustic earthiness of the design that is present inside the house.
