Today we bring you a grand holiday home in São Paulo. We will discover what it's like to feel at home without being in your own residence, complete with the same old daily routine—it's a homely holiday abode that combines the best of both!

Nestled in a gigantic property, with beautiful natural landscapes, the traditional-style guest house, offers a luxurious stay. Spread over two levels, the residence has a large living and dining room and nothing less than 5 suites! Before the renovation, the house was more modest, with only 3 bedrooms. The interior was not only radically renewed but expanded too.

Let's step inside and see for ourselves…

Before: The exterior and basement garage

The home was a touch dated—the doors and windows were stuck in a distant past, failing to support a sense of connection and flow between the interior and exterior. Not to mention, that large basement garage lay to waste, completely underutilised.

After: exterior

The old wooden frames were replaced by aluminium ones and the addition of an external porch surrounding the house provides the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views.

The basement garage has been filled in, appropriating more space for the home's interior. While, a fresh coat of white paint gives the home a contemporary look.

The interior

The question is, where did all the extra rooms come from?! The answer is simple—renovating the garage that lay in the basement area, they were able to include brand-new junior suites connected to the common living spaces by a new staircase.

The living room has also been renovated; the open plan social space is great for entertaining and can house large groups. The design and furniture selections are modern and opt for neutral colours.

The dining area

The dining space is located within the open plan social heart of the home. Located on the main level, it opens onto the front porch, enjoying a seamless transition between inside and out.

The bedroom

Simple, but not without decoration, this bedroom exudes the comfort of a hotel suite. The timber wall feature provides a focal point in the room and forms the bedhead that anchors the sleeping quarter in place. Simple white bed furnishings are fresh and contemporary.
